Preliminary Notice

A person providing construction services shall file this notice no later than 20 days after the person commences work. For public projects, all subcontractors must file this notice if there is a Notice of Commencement filed. For all other projects, everyone must file this notice.

Construction/Preconstruction Services Lien

Must have filed a Preliminary Notice in order to file a Construction Services Lien.

Notice of Commencement

The general contractor, owner, or owner-builder shall file this notice no later than 15 days after commencement of physical construction work at a government project site.

Upon final completion of a construction project, this notice may be filed by an owner, original contractor, a lender, a surety, or a title company.
